I contributed to the making of a documentary film about the phenomenon of “forgotten shares”. Hundreds of thousands of people in the Czech Republic hold billions of crowns in shares acquired in the voucher privatisation and have forgotten they own them. That money is gradually being lost to squeeze-outs by majority shareholders, to lapsed dividend entitlements and the like.
